Hagenbeck is one of the largest privately owned zoos in the world that is open to the public, it is worth the visit each and every time.
The zoo is home to 1850 animals from all over the world in beautiful open-air enclosures which are world renowned. There are over 210 animal species, of which many have been bred with great success, including many species which are threatened by extinction. Animals such as the Orangutans, the Asian Elephants and the Giant Otter native to South America have found refuge at the Hagenbeck´s Zoo.
